Greetings and welcome! My name is Kristen Parke and I create wheel-thrown, functional ceramic wares. After completing a degree in ceramics, I began teaching visual art full time while maintaining a personal practice of making in my home studio in Nashville, Tennessee. Work
My ceramic work features pieces made from of a variety of stoneware clay bodies with an emphasis on craftsmanship and functionality to seamlessly blend into your home. Inspiration for the surface decoration in my current work comes from exploring inner-child creativity and expression, nature, interior design elements, and stylized textiles. These playful details serve as a reminder of the handmade process and my hope is that they will enrich the small rituals of your daily routine to help you slow down and appreciate each interaction and moment of mundane beauty.
